Jorgen S. Holand Achievement Award |

The third Jorgen S. Holand Achievement Award was presented to the winner, Joseph Hart. Hart was select from graduating classes 122 and 123 of the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy.
This award is presented by the Delaware County Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation in conjunction with the family and friends of K-9 Officer Jorgen "Lefty" Holand. Officer Holand served the community of Upper Chichester from 1979 till his death in the line of duty in 1998. Officer Holand was a firearms instructor at the Academy.
Applicants for the award are judged on excellence in academics, firearms proficiency, physical fitness, involvement in community service, as well as a personal essay. Along with a handsome plaque is a financial award of $1500. This award is presented at each spring and fall graduation of the academy. This award demonstrates the DCLEMF's commitment to new officers as well as recognizing our fallen brothers and sisters. |
